Dr Sturrock is a practitioner in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health problems. She uses feedback-informed evidence-based treatment, which is tailored to the individual client.
Clinical psychologists are trained to treat a range of emotional, interpersonal, and mental health problems, including:
- Anxiety & phobias
- Bipolar Disorder
- Eating disorders
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
- Panic Disorder
- Personality disorders
- Sleeping disorders
- Adult survivors of sexual abuse
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Parenting difficulties
As a clinical psychologist, Dr Sturrock is required to maintain a high level of professional development and practice, and to adhere to the ethical guidelines developed by the Australian Psychological Society. Psychologists are also legally governed by the Psychology Board of Australia.
Fees: The cost of a 50-minute consultation slot is $200 (as of March 19 2018), which is payable at the end of the session by cash, eftpos or credit card. $124.50 per session can be claimed back through Medicare for up to 10 sessions (in 1 year) if referred by a general practitioner or psychiatrist – see Better Access to Psychologists through the Medicare Benefits Schedule. Services are also provided for the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) – see DVA. Services available to WorkSafe Injured Workers.
For students and clients who are experiencing financial hardship, there is a sliding scale of $160 or $145 per session based on the psychologists criteria. Bulk-billing is also available at the discretion of the practitioner in the instance of severe financial hardship, such as homelessness, with a current mental health care plan and pension or DVA (out-of-pocket expense $0).
The cost for assessment reports is $225 per hour exc. GST.
